Prosser has triple-double but Grove City falls to Titans

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- Senior forward Tanner Prosser (Pittsburgh, Pa./Brentwood) recorded his first career triple-double Wednesday night but the Grove City College men's basketball team dropped a 91-86 decision to host Westminster in Presidents' Athletic Conference action at Buzz Ridl Gymnasium.

Prosser recorded 13 points, pulled in 11 rebounds and added 10 assists but the Wolverines could not overcome 24 turnovers and a 6-for-13 team effort at the foul line. 

Junior forward Ryan Eller (Erie, Pa./Iroquois) poured in a career- and game-high 32 points on 14-of-16 shooting. Eller also had four assists while junior guard J.D. Collar (Cincinnati, Ohio/Anderson) added 11 points and six assists. Sophomore forward Chuck Cotherman (Knox, Pa./Keystone) fired in 16 first-half points.

As a team, Grove City (6-10, 0-2 PAC) shot 62 percent (36-for-58) from the field and accumulated 29 assists. However, Westminster hoisted 50 three-point attempts as a team, draining 16. Guards Mark DeMonaco and Ed Pagley led the Titans (7-9, 2-0 PAC) with 21 and 20 points, respectively. 

Grove City out-rebounded Westminster 41-31 but the 24 turnovers led to 30 Westminster points.

Grove City hosts Thiel Saturday at 3 p.m.
