Grove City falls to 3-3 in PAC 

BETHANY, W. Va. -- The Grove City College men's basketball team fell to 9-12 overall and 3-3 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference with an 80-72 loss to Bethany Saturday afternoon at Hummel Field House in PAC action.

Grove City led 40-33 at halftime as sophomore guard Matt Phillips (Bainbridge, Ohio/Kenston) fired in 17 of his career-high 19 points in the first half. Phillips led Grove City with his 19 points as well as eight rebounds. 

The Wolverines shot 19 for 31 (61 percent) in the first half but could not hang onto the lead in the second half. Bethany (14-6, 5-1 PAC) charged back in the second half as sophomore forward Matt Drahos pumped in 18 of his game-high 27 points. Drahos also had 13 rebounds while brother Mike Drahos had 17 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists for the Bison, who completed a season sweep of Grove City.

Grove City junior point guard Mike Lukcic (Pittsburgh, Pa./Central Catholic) tossed in 12 points and hauled in eight rebounds while junior forward Ryan Eller (Erie, Pa./Iroquois) added 10 points. 

Senior forward Tanner Prosser (Pittsburgh, Pa./Brentwood) scored nine points, placing him in 12th place on Grove City's all-time scoring list with 1,169 points. 

Bethany out-rebounded Grove City 42-31 and made 17 of 21 foul shots. Grove City went just 6-for-12 at the line. 

Grove City hosts PAC-leading Westminster (6-0 PAC) Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m.
