Prosser, Phillips post double-doubles in win

WAYNESBURG, Pa. -- Senior forward Tanner Prosser (Pittsburgh, Pa./Brentwood) fired in 20 points and grabbed 11 rebounds while sophomore swingman Matt Phillips (Bainbridge, Ohio/Kenston) added 14 points and a career-high 11 rebounds in helping the Grove City College men's basketball team slide past Waynesburg Wednesday night, 70-58, in Presidents' Athletic Conference action at Rudy Marisa Field House.

Prosser shot 9-for-12 from the floor and moved from 10th to sixth on Grove City's all-time scoring list with 1,216 points. Phillips, this week's PAC and Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) South Region Player of the Week, is averaging over 18 points per game over his last five games.

Grove City (12-12, 6-3 PAC) pulled away in the second half after holding a 33-26 halftime lead. Freshman point guard Justin Adley (Washington, Pa./Trinity) drained an 18-footer with one second left in the half to cap Grove City's first-half effort.

Junior forward Ryan Eller (Erie, Pa./Iroquois) added 11 points for Grove City, which will be the third seed in next week's PAC Tournament. Grove City will host No. 6 seed Washington and Jefferson (7-17, 1-8 PAC) in the conference quarterfinals. The Wolverines will also host Washington and Jefferson this Saturday in the regular season finale.

Eller now has 386 points, the 17th-highest single-season total in Grove City history.

Grove City out-rebounded the Yellow Jackets (9-15, 3-6 PAC) 45-31 and limited Waynesburg to 34 percent (22 of 64) shooting from the floor.
