Bethany tops Wolverines

BETHANY, W. Va. – The Grove City College men's basketball team fell to 7-11 overall and 3-2 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference Saturday afternoon with a 92-58 loss to host Bethany (14-4, 5-0 PAC) in PAC action at Hummel Field House.

Bethany shot 34 of 58 (58.6 percent) from the floor for the game and forced 22 Wolverine turnovers. Bethany led 49-32 at halftime.

Freshman forward Daniel Zacour (Wooster, Ohio/Kidron Central Christian) led Grove City with a career-high 14 points. Freshman point guard Ryan Gibson (North Canton, Ohio/Hoover) had five assists.

As a team, the Wolverines shot 52 percent (23 of 44) from the floor. However, Bethany owned a 32-20 advantage on the glass.

Matt Drahos led Bethany with 23 points and nine rebounds. He also had five assists and four blocks. Mike Drahos added 18 points while Scott Mezyk fired in 15 points.

Grove City will visit Washington and Jefferson Wednesday night in PAC action at 8 p.m.
