GROVE CITY, Pa. -- Five players scored in double figures Saturday afternoon, vaulting Grove City to a 72-58 upset of visiting Bethany in Presidents' Athletic Conference men's basketball action in the Grove City College Arena. It is Grove City's first home win over Bethany since Feb. 5, 2000.

Senior center Craig Hallman (Ellwood City, Pa./Riverside) posted a 13-point, 14-rebound double-double on 5-of-5 shooting. Junior guard Joe Capotosta (Wadsworth, Pa./Wadsworth) fired in 12 points off the bench while junior guard Shawn Carr (Mount Jackson, Pa./Mohawk) tossed in 11. Grove City fell behind 17-7 in the first half but surged back with an 18-0 blitz. Capotosta scored eight points during the run while Carr contributed a pair of baskets. Later in the half, Gibson buried back-to-back threes, giving Grove City a 35-26 lead.

In the second half, Grove City extended the lead to 58-43 on a Carr deuce with 6:44 left. Bethany (15-6, 7-2 PAC) slashed the lead to 58-51 with five minutes left but a lay-up by junior Ryan Gerber (Baltic, Ohio/Garaway) halted the Bison run.
