Westminster tops Wolverines

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's basketball team dropped to 12-7 overall and 5-2 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference Wednesday night with an 82-60 setback at Westminster in a PAC game at Memorial Field House.

Westminster shot 20 of 41 behind the three-point line in the victory. As a team, the Titans shot 29 of 54 (54 percent) from the field. Grove City, meanwhile, shot 43 percent (27 of 63) from the field. The Wolverines committed just eight turnovers, though.

Sophomore center Andy O'Keefe (Perry, Ohio/Perry) led Grove City with 16 points and six rebounds. Senior guard Ryan Gerber (Baltic, Ohio/Garaway) tossed in 11 points while freshman forward Kris Verderber (Chagrin Falls, Ohio/Kenston) added 10. Junior Joe McCoy (Newark, Ohio/Newark) recorded nine.

Craig Hannon led Westminster with 33 points, including seven three-point goals. Westminster out-rebounded Grove City, 33-27.

Grove City will host Washington & Jefferson Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. in PAC play.
