Grove City 61, Geneva 52

Despite shooting a season-low 36% (19-53) from the field, Grove City managed to defeat NAIA nemesis Geneva, 61-52, in Beaver Falls, PA.

Brent Steineman (Pickerington, OH/Wadsworth) scored a team-high 13 points, while Michael Cratsley (Temecula, CA/Temecula) and Damon Finazzo (Erie, PA/McDowell) netted 11 points each.  Lee Huffman (Gibsonia, PA/Hampton) grabbed a game-high 15 boards and finished with nine points.

Grove City, 9 for 31 from the floor (29%) in the first 20 minutes, built on a 25-23 halftime lead with 10-for-22 shooting (46%) in the second half, including 5 for 8 from outside the three-point arc.

The Wolverines held Geneva to just 29% shooting (19-65) for the game.

Grove City evened its record to 6-6, while Geneva fell to 3-10.  GCC hosts Pitt-Bradford on Wednesday, January 13, at 7:30 p.m. in a final tune-up before the PAC opener Saturday at home against Bethany.
