Wolverines earn home win

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's basketball team concluded the non-conference portion of the 2012-13 schedule Wednesday night with a 79-43 win over visiting Pitt-Titusville at the Grove City College Arena.

Sophomore guard Mitch Marmelstein (San Juan Capistrano, Calif./St. Margaret's) led Grove City with 21 points on 8-for-13 shooting and sophomore guard J.T. Schwartz (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shaler) added 13 points. Sophomore forward Brian Giesler (Harrisville, Pa./Slippery Rock) tossed in nine points on three three-point goals as 12 Wolverines scored in the victory.

The Wolverines shot 45 percent (29 of 64) from the field while holding Pitt-Titusville to 30 percent (17 of 57) shooting.

Marmelstein led Grove City with seven rebounds while senior forward Nate Rambacher (Newmanstown, Pa./Eastern Lebanon) and freshman guard Isaiah Reeves (Pittsburgh, Pa./Perry) each had six boards. Grove City held a 45-36 advantage on the glass. Schwartz also had four assists and five steals.

Hiree Peoples led Pitt-Titusville with 19 points while Mark Houston had 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Grove City (7-13) returns to Presidents' Athletic Conference play Saturday night at Saint Vincent. Tip-off is 6 p.m.
