Grove City 82, D'Youville 57

January 27, 1999--Three Wolverines scored in double-figures as Grove City cruised to an 82-57 non-conference win over host D'Youville in Buffalo, NY.

Sophomore Shane Meling (Slippery Rock, PA/Slippery) led the way with 16 points on 5-for-10 shooting, including 2 for 2 from outside the three-point arc.  Junior Dave Pifer (Sarver, PA/Freeport) knocked down 13 points, including three treys, while senior Bob Ayton (Warminster, PA/William Tennent) posted 10 points and a team-high five assists.   Senior Brent Steineman (Pickerington, OH/Wadsworth) had nine points and a team-best four steals.  Junior Lee Huffman (Gibsonia, PA/Hampton) grabbed game-high honors on the boards with nine rebounds.

The Wolverines sank 7 of 13 three-pointers in the first half on their way to a 49-24 lead at the break.  They fired in nine trifectas for the second game in a row.

Grove City, now 9-7 overall, plays at Washington & Jefferson Saturday at 3:00 p.m. in a PAC affair.  D'Youville dropped to 0-15.
