Grove City 69, W&J 66 (OT)

January 30, 1999--Dave Pifer's 20 points, including four three-pointers, sent the Wolverines to their third PAC victory in as many games as Grove City (10-7, 3-0 PAC) knocked off host Washington and Jefferson (3-12, 1-3 PAC), 69-66, in overtime.

The Wolverines rallied from a 52-42 deficit to take a 60-57 lead before W&J forced the extra session in the final seconds of regulation.

Pifer (Sarver, PA/Freeport) and Shane Meling (Slippery Rock, PA/Slippery Rock) netted clutch three-pointers in overtime to seal Grove City's third straight win and fifth victory in its last six games.  Michael Cratsley (Temecula, CA/Temecula Valley) posted 15 points and a team-high eight rebounds.  Meling finished with 12 points and seven boards, while Lee Huffman (Gibsonia, PA/Hampton) added nine points and seven caroms.

In a rare home-and-home series, the two teams meet again next Wednesday in Grove City at 7:30 p.m.
