Mike Ayers recorded a game-high 17 points and 11 boards for the Tomcats, who improved to 9-6 overall, 1-0 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference. Tanner Prosser (Brentwood, PA/Brentwood) posted a team-high 13 points and nine rebounds for the Wolverines, who fell to 6-11 overall, 1-1 PAC. 

Grove City led 30-26 at intermission, but was held to 28% shooting in the second half.  Thiel took its first lead of the second half, 48-47, with 8:41 left in regulation.  The Tomcats were up 51-49 at the six-minute mark when they went on the 9-0 run. 

The deficit was cut to five, 68-63, wih 34 seconds left when Pat Roberts (Home, PA/Marion Center) completed a traditional three-point play.  Shane Meling (Slippery Rock, PA/Slippery Rock) made it 68-64 with a free throw five seconds later but the Wolverines wouldn't get any closer.

Roberts added 10 boards as the Wolverines outrebounded the Tomcats, 47-40.

Grove City plays at Washington & Jefferson next Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
