WAYNESBURG, PA, February 2, 2000--Tanner Prosser (Brentwood, PA/Brentwood) fired in a career-high 31 points on 13-for-16 shooting as Grove City thrust itself back into the Presidents' Athletic Conference title chase with an 82-79 win at Waynesburg's Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse.

The Wolverines ended a three-game slide and improved to 2-2 in the PAC, 7-13 overall.  The Yellow Jackets had their six-game winning streak snapped and suffered their first league loss, falling to 3-1 in the PAC, 11-7 overall.

Prosser became the second Wolverine to score 31 points in a game this season.  Chris Kreider (Hummelstown, PA/Lower Dauphin) tallied 31 in an 80-57 win over Penn State Altoona on January 17.  Kreider contributed 12 points and a career-best nine assists Wednesday night.  Dave Pifer (Sarver, PA/Freeport) and David Stiansen (Telford, PA/Souderton) nailed four three-pointers each and finished with 16 and 12 points, respectively.

Waynesburg led at intermission, 41-37, outshooting Grove City 59% to 58%.  The Wolverines shot 53% the rest of the way and held the Jackets to 44% shooting.

James Arnold hit 11 of 12 shots and finished with 27 points for Waynesburg.  Ray Robinson, the PAC's leading scorer, tossed in 26 points.

Grove City hosts Bethany in a PAC affair Saturday at 4:00 p.m.
