Building School Spirit...
City College Cheerleading Squad is a non-competitive squad that cheers for all home football and
basketball games and occasional away games. We do numerous things to
promote school spirit, such as coordinating crowd cheers with the band and attending
other sports events. We also encourage the players by making posters,
sending good luck notes, and of course, cheering for them at games.
During games, we do our best to get the fans excited and into the action
on the field or court. We cheer along with the fans, perform stunts, and
dance with the band during football games. We also mix and choreograph
our own dances during basketball season. We have a lot of fun supporting and
cheering for the athletes from Grove City College and are always looking
for new ideas. If you have suggestions, we'd
love to hear from you!
The cheerleading squad practices two times per week for two hours each practice. If there is a need
practice time, extra time is scheduled. We also lift as a squad to gain
strength and safety for stunting. Cheerleaders are required to
attend every practice and game throughout the season.
