"Student View"
by Brittany Hayward
Through the Eyes of a Grove City College Student

February 3 - February 10

Women participated in Project Eve this weekend, showcasing the creativity and skills of women on campus.

Several hundred people admired the work and creativity displayed in South Lobby and Old MAP.

Women showcased their musical abilities with a concert stretching several hours. Some women even performed original pieces at the event.

About 175 students participated in Relay For Life, an all night fundraiser that supports the American Cancer Society.

Also Saturday night, Greek life at GCC and at nearby Slippery Rock University teamed up to bring some local bands to Crawford Auditorium with the proceeds benefiting Red Box Missions

Students learned classic social dancing and then practiced during the once-again sold out Pew Promenade.

The men playing IM Basketball would do anything to win!

Men's IM Basketball is drawing to a close as the regular season ends and play-offs begin next week.

Women even had a chance to showcase their culinary creativity. Even the snacks were works of art!

Every medium was explored - acrylic, watercolor, ink, pencil, photography, sculpture, knitting, pottery and computer generated art.

There was even an artist creating a new piece in the midst of the event. Christina set up at the back of the concert and let the inspiration take over.

People and groups camped out in the intramural room with tents and couches and lots of snacks as members of each team were constantly participating in the walk.

Salt Company sponsored their annual coffeehouse on Saturday night. Students signed up to perform and everyone enjoyed a relaxing night of music, snacks, and paper covered tables to color on.

The Pew Promenade was like walking into another time as costumes, music and dancing were reminiscent of an earlier era.

I'm so happy you stopped by to take a look at the campus through a student's eyes. It's been a pleasure putting this page together for you.

Sincerely,

Brittany Hayward
