Through the Eyes of a Grove City College Student

August 25 - September 2

Welcome back! And a big welcome to all of the new students this year!

Freshmen, transfers, and exchange students were greeted with a warm welcome by the Grove City College marching band, faculty members, and orientation board on move-in day.

Getting to Know You
The first few weeks of school can be a difficult transition period for new students, so the orientation board brings fun activities, like the Graffiti Dance, for incoming freshmen to make friends, have some fun, and forget about the stresses of a new school year. Even President Jewell was spotted signing a few t-shirts!

Nations Unite
Every fall, the incoming freshmen participate in the Orientation Board Olympics. Students are placed on a team, each of which represents a different country. I think we may see some of these events in the next world Olympics! There's nothing like wacky relay races, water balloon tosses, and dance competitions that can really bring some new friends together.

Orientation Board on Broadway

More commonly known as OB OB, this is quite the popular event during welcome week. It gives the residence life staff and members of orientation board a chance to get on stage and strut their stuff. It's a great final hurrah before the first day of classes.

Thanks for stopping by! I look forward to documenting the 2011-2012 school year in photos, so be sure to drop by every week
for more of the Grove City experience through the eyes of a student!

Sincerely,
