Through the Eyes of a Grove City College Student

March 5 - March 11

The beginning of March has brought many exciting activities to campus!

Jake Armerding of The Fretful Porcupine
Jake Armerding spoke in Chapel this past week and brought along his musical partner, Kevin Gosa, to perform a very unique style of music. "We brew finely-crafted roots chamber music from saxophones, wires, & wood." - The Fretful Porcupine. Jake plays all of the strings, while Kevin switches between different saxophones.

Project Eve
Project Eve is an annual on-campus art show celebrating the talents of female artisits and creators at Grove City College. The event showcases artwork in the form of sculpture, painting, photography, fashion, jewelry, music, etc. You name it,  it's probably on display. Not only does the show provide the opportunity for the ladies of campus to display their artwork, but it also provides a space for fellowship between students and faculty alike.

Relay for Life
This year, Grove City College students raised over $16,000 for Relay for Life - a great way to celebrate the lives of those who have batteled cancer, remember those who were lost, and fight back against the disease. At this event, friends, athletic groups, sororities, and fraternities formed teams and set up camp in the campus gym. Members from each group took turns walking around the gym for a period of 12 hours. To kick off the night, a few survivors took a "Survivor Lap" around the gym in celebration of their victory over cancer.

SWE Masquerade
Students had a ball at the Masquerade, another great event hosted by the Society of Women Engineers (SWE). Those in attendance had the opportunity to purchase a mask, bring one, or make one of their own. Everyone looked stunning as they swing danced their way around the floor.

Thanks for stopping by! I look forward to documenting the 2011-2012 school year in photos, so be sure to drop by every week
for more of the Grove City experience through the eyes of a student!

Sincerely,
