GCC shoots lights out in second half, beats Marietta

MARIETTA, OH, November 21, 2000--Junior guard Chris Kreider (Hummelstown, PA/Lower Dauphin) fired in a game-high 26 points on 10-for-12 shooting as the Grove City Wolverines (2-1) cruised past host Marietta (2-1), 79-57. 

Grove City missed just four field goals in the second half, drilling 17 of 21 (81%) to break open a 29-29 halftime tie.  Meanwhile, the Pioneers were held to 28% shooting in the game (17-61).

Senior forward Shane Meling (Slippery Rock, PA/Slippery Rock) scored 18 points, hitting 4 of 5 from three-point range.  Junior forward Pat Roberts (Home, PA/Marion Center) recorded 12 points and a game-high 11 rebounds, while sophomore guard Andy Vlajkovich (Canfield, OH/Canfield) chipped in with eight points, seven boards and a team-high five assists.

Marietta was paced by Jesse DuPerow's 18 points and 11 boards.
