GROVE CITY, PA, January 17, 2000--Chris Kreider (Hummelstown, PA/Lower Dauphin) fired in a career-high 31 points and Tanner Prosser (Brentwood, PA/Brentwood) recorded career bests with 20 points and 15 rebounds as Grove City ran away from visiting Penn State Altoona, 80-57.

Kreider went 13-for-17 from the floor and 5-for-5 from the line, becoming the first Wolverine to eclipse 30 points in a single game since Dan Von Handorf scored 42 in a double-overtime win over Thiel on February 8, 1995.  Von Handorf hit 13 of 18 from the field and 16 of 17 from the stripe.  Kreider also recorded four rebounds, three steals, two assists and two blocked shots.

Prosser drained 9 of 11 and added four assists and four blocks.  Dave Pifer (Sarver, PA/Freeport) also scored in double figures with 11 points.

The Wolverines, 3-1 in their last four and 4-4 since Christmas, shot 56.7% from the floor and outrebounded the Cougars 43-20.  Pat Roberts (Home, PA/Marion Center) and Dan Quinn (Uniontown, OH/Green) grabbed eight and seven boards, respectively.  Quinn added five points and four assists.

Grove City closed its pre-conference slate at 5-10 and will begin its Presidents' Athletic Conference title defense Wednesday at Bethany.  Tip-off is slated for 8:00 p.m.
