Altoona edges Grove City

ALTOONA, Pa. -- The Grove City College volleyball team fell to 2-2 overall Wednesday night by dropping a five-set decision to host Penn State Altoona. Grove City won the first two sets, 25-22 and 32-30, but Penn State Altoona captured the next three sets, 25-10, 25-21 and 15-11.

 Freshman Jamie Robatisin (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny) paced Grove City with 13 kills and senior Dalaney Algiere (Grasonville, Md./Kent Island) added 10 kills on just 19 attempts. Junior Natalija Galens (Covert, Mich./Grace Christian) recorded nine kills.

Junior setter Amy Trageser (Marriottsville, Md./Chapelgate Christian) recorded 34 assists while Galens and Robatisin both served two aces.

Senior libero Frances Trenta (Hartville, Ohio/Lake) tallied a team-leading 29 digs. Junior Stephanie Althausen (Asheville, N.C./Asheville Christian) collected 18 digs and Robatisin recorded 16 digs. Galens posted 13 digs.

Grove City returns to action Friday at the Baldwin-Wallace/Case Western Tournament. The Wolverines face John Carroll at 4 p.m. and then meet Hiram at 8 p.m.
