Hiram tops Grove City
GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's swimming and diving team fell to 5-6 overall Saturday afternoon with a 144-130 home loss to Hiram in a non-conference dual meet in the Grove City College Pool.
Freshman Jane Wilson (Newberg, Ore./Veritas School) earned a pair of victories for Grove City in the sprints. Wilson won the 50 in 24.97 seconds, then took first in the 100 free (54.90). Sophomore Whitney Baur (North Wales, Pa./North Penn) won the 200 breaststroke in 2:39.73 while senior Virginia Larsen (Federal Way, Wash./Tacoma Baptist) won the 100 breaststroke in 1:13.53.
Wilson, Baur, sophomore Liza McRuer (Irvine, Calif./University) and junior Ellen Keefer (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville) combined to win the 400 free relay in 3:51.76.
Grove City will visit Washington & Jefferson January 13 in a Presidents' Athletic Conference dual meet.
