Grove City finishes 3rd
GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's swimming and diving team finished third at the Grove City Invitational/Presidents' Athletic Conference Swimming and Diving Championships Saturday night at the Grove City College Pool. Grove City concluded the three-day event with 446.5 team points. Westminster won the team title with 865 points while Washington & Jefferson took second with 708.5.
Freshman Jane Wilson (Newberg, Ore./Veritas School) helped lead the Grove City effort Saturday night by winning the 100 free in a meet-record time of 53.32 seconds. Junior Ellen Keefer (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville) took second to Wilson in the 100 free with a time of 53.85.
Keefer, Wilson, sophomore Liza McRuer (Irvine, Calif./University) and sophomore Whitney Baur (North Wales, Pa./North Penn) finished third in the meet-ending 400 free relay with a time of 3:40.74.
Also for Grove City, sophomore Kiersten Bower (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia) took fifth in the 200 butterfly in 2:19.98.
Several Grove City swimmers will participate in Kenyon's Last Chance Meet next Saturday in Gambier, Ohio.
