Grove City opens season
CLARION, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's swimming and diving team opened the 2012-13 season Saturday by finishing second at the Clarion University Fall Classic. Clarion finished the meet with 202 points and Grove City accumulated 140 points.
Two Grove City swimmers notched individual victories Saturday. Sophomore Keegan Reed (Greencastle, Pa./James Buchanan) won the 400 individual medley in 4 minutes, 59.99 seconds. Senior Kait Riesmeyer (McMurray, Pa./Peters Township) captured the 100 butterfly in 1:00.49.
Riesmeyer, senior Jenny Ryan (State College, Pa./State College), sophomore Tori Baker (Fairfax, Va./Robinson) and senior Angela Palumbo (Washington, Pa./Trinity) won the 400 free relay in 3:42.78.
Grove City will open its dual-meet schedule next Saturday at 1 p.m. against visiting Allegheny.
