Wolverines 2-1 at Kenyon

GAMBIER, Ohio -- The Grove City College women's swimming and diving team earned two wins at the Kenyon College Quad Saturday afternoon. Grove City (4-2) picked up a 161-137 win over Case Western Reserve and a 142-138 decision over Division II foe Gannon. Host Kenyon pulled out a 155-132 victory over Grove City.

Senior Angela Palumbo (Washington, Pa./Trinity) earned two victories to help lead the Wolverines Saturday. Palumbo won the 50 free in 24.74 seconds and also took the 200 free in 1:57.24. Palumbo also took second in the 100 free (53.84).

Senior Jenny Ryan (State College, Pa./State College) earned two runner-up finishes for the Wolverines. She took second in the 200 free to Palumbo with a time of 1:57.24. Ryan then placed second in the 200 individual medley in 2:13.97.

Senior Kait Riesmeyer (McMurray, Pa./Peters Township) finished second in the 200 butterfly (2:15.50) and third in the 100 fly (1:00.84). Freshman diver Carolyn Eckendorf (Fairview, Pa./Fairview) took second in both diving events. She took second on the 1-meter board with a score of 222.90. Eckendorf then accumulated 215.70 points to take second in 3-meter competition.

Freshman Megan Bilko (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan) earned third in the 1000 (10:53.24).

Ryan, Palumbo, sophomore Tori Baker (Fairfax, Va./Robinson) and sophomore Amy Melnik (Clifton Park, N.Y./Homeschooled) closed the meet by taking second in the 400 free relay in 3:39.07.

Grove City will compete in the Kenyon College Total Performance Invitational November 29.
